Sarah Leavitt, Chronics.

“All day, all night, the body intervenes,” writes Sarah Leavitt in her mesmerizing three-part series of comics about her partner’s long illness (caused by myalgic encephalopathy).  Leavitt’s readers may remember “D” as Donimo from Tangles, Leavitt’s memoir of her mother’s diagnosis and eventual death from Alzheimer’s.  In her comics series Chronics, Leavitt grapples with her feelings of helplessness in the face of D’s sustained chronic pain.
