Rupture

Graphic narratives use the line as an elemental unit to make emotions visible and to create meaning.  A bold, continuous line may convey continuity and flow.  Conversely, broken lines can be used to imply interruption and disconnection. The artists highlighted in this section deploy fragmented lines to convey the physical and emotional impact of trauma.
