Difficulties
One of the strengths of Green’s narrative is its messiness. Green’s artwork complicates more linear depictions of the path from sickness to wellness; her lines rarely follow a straight trajectory and instead, stubbornly bend and loop. Green’s depiction of recovery is ultimately disrupted by other challenges (including abuse from a treatment facilitator). For Green, the articulated forms that chase her throughout her journey don’t ever go away, but they are broken up and dispersed over time.
