Yoido's women ministry
While Yoido was growing in numbers from the days of Seodaemun, there were too many members for Pastor Cho and Choi to handle, so they started hiring and instituting a system of pastors and lay leaders to assist that formed cell groups and districts similar to the John Wesley model. However, most men rejected, feeling unprepared, so Pastor Cho decided to raise and train female leaders to lead these cell groups. This was against the grain of what Korea was used to. Still, this institution allowed for the growth of Seodamun into Yoido and the raising of female pastors, missionaries and evangelists in Korea.
