Silver plate medal of Byron in partial profile marked "Lord Byron" on the left, and "1788-1824" on the right, set in recessed dark blue velvet with a purple ribbon pull. Inside the top cover of presentation box, stamped in gilt on white cloth it says, "The bicentenary of the poet Byron's birth January 22nd 1788," followed by lines from Shelley's Adonais calling Byron "the pilgrim of Eternity."
