Title, author, and publisher information is on the spine. First story is the classic gothic tale, The Turn of the Screw. Next is Covering End. The Turn of the Screw was first published in serial in Collier’s Weekly Magazine. This edition was the first time in which it appeared in full in a published book. In the story, a governess receives a new position to oversee two children, and becomes increasingly convinced that the grounds where they live are haunted. Things are not as they seem, however. Covering End is a lesser known tale that James converted from his one-act play, Summersoft.</text>
